Albion - Merryweather as sold to London Fire Brigade 1937. "London County Council, Merryweather and Sons, Ltd. has recently supplied a further two motor pumps to the London Fire Brigade. One machine is a breathing-apparatus pump, and the other a " dual-purpose" engine which is fitted, in addition to a powerful Merryweather fire pump, with first-aid equipment and arrangements for carrying a wheeled fire-escape. Each machine has an Albion-Merryweather chassis as its basis, the six-cylindered engine developing 115 b.h.p." Link to "archive.commercialmotor.com" ![]() |

1936-1937 Albion Model 126 or 127 chassis fitted with a six-cylinder engine in place of the normal four (see CM article). https://www.trucksplanet.com/catalog/model.php?id=1332 Using the 'trucksplanet.com' listing since Model 126 is normal control whereas 127 is a forward control chassis as built by Albion. Merryweather modifications to the chassis are however likely. "Both overtype and bonneted models later received a 'K' prefix" therefore K126 -- Last edit: 2017-12-07 14:43:04 |
