Mid-'20s Alvis saloon - possibly a 12/50? |

Austin Heavy 12, maybe, but not an Alvis. |

I have to agree the radiator is from the Austin 12/4 Link to "www.the-blueprints.com" /vehicle_70076-Austin-12-4-Tourer-1921.html |

My thoughts are that this is too big to be a 12/4, and suggest it may well be an Austin 20/4 of about 1927. Jim Stringer (Vintage Austin Register) |

I would have to say it is a 20/4 the car looks to big to be a 12 i have been around Vintage cars just about all my life my uncal has had 3 Vintage Austins an Austin 12 1937 Austin 12 Taxi and a Austin 20/4 Jim you might have seen his name as i think he was a member of VAR. |

![]() MA 9305 = 1922, Cheshire. (Or if WA 9305 = Sheffield 1924, but I think MA). So model up for grabs again. |

Austin 20 and 20/4...........1919 to 1930 Austin 12 and variants.......1922 to 1939 Therefore no change. My personal view is that it's a Twelve, the early Twenties were very large cars with a 3.6 litre engine, but amongst these experts.... https://www.flickr.com/photos/45676495@N05/6109666361 |

That's fine by me - this one's never going to be clear cut either way. Plate date now 5 years earlier than previously-entered ID, which is why I rolled the dice again. |

The Clifton was a tourer, this looks like a fabric Saloon to me. http://www.robinlawton.com/cars/1929-austin-12-4-fabric-bodied-saloon -- Last edit: 2017-03-23 20:48:18 |
