Indeed it is. An early one 1991+, most probably a GL (entry version) because of lack of alloys. That it's not a 960 can be seen as it doesn't have chrome on top of the bumper. @fontheking5: I don't know how deep your knowledge is about the Volvo's as you just keep writing (random?) numbers, instead of specific years and models. Please try to make an effort! |

I Know my Volvos, and i know, just by looking at the wheel covers, that this is a 940. I was grown up with Volvos, and i like Volvos, so that`s why i know so much about Volvos + that Volvos are so common in Sweden. -- Last edit: 2016-12-03 15:58:06 |

If you do know your Volvos, please show just that, and not just writing numbers. For a true identification this page also need a year and, if possible to make out, how well equipped it is. The latter means the GL, Turbo or S alternatives. But, Volvo identification might not come as easy as it looks. One reason is that they have different names depending on were it was sold (the 142 GL was called 142 E in the U.S. and for a while the numbers disappeared alltogether) and another reason is what Volvo (at least used to call) ÄT = Ändringstillfällen (times of changes) where major changes took place. Thus plenty of things can vary between two years, or within the year (as with early and late MY 1976 240), even though they look the same. The wheel covers only tell part of the story. For a while there was a 960 around where I live, whose owner apparently didn't like the alloys and used wheel covers all the year round. Otherwise wheel covers are easily replaceable and might be a clue in the wrong direction. |
