Since this movie was made in 1998 and this truck was a 1999 model, this must be either one of the first ones made or GM gave them a pre-production model as a promotional thing. |

Probably was just bought new, from the 1999 GMC model lineup. |

It was a pre-production model, used for a promotional tie-in. I remember I first saw this movie after it premiered on HBO in 1999 (one year after its release), and at the time I saw the film these trucks were only just starting to appear on the road (they were a late model introduction). I remember thinking it odd that they had one a year prior (probably closer to two years, given the time between filming and the release of the movie). |

The '99 Sierra and the '99 Grand Am both made their debuts in this movie before even being available at dealerships. |

I noticed that when he pulls up to his camper/house the sierra has chrome backed mirrors but when he pulls up to roger's house the mirrors back are just plain black and its also the first lethal weapon where his gmc isn't a dooley |

Not true. In the 1st Film (1987) his truck was a '85 Model making it 2 Years Old |
