Eight. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolseley_Eight Why they never offered the ohv engine in the Morris Minor is a complete mystery. It would have transformed the gutless sidevalve Series MM into something approaching the Minor 1000, and would have been an improvement on the Series II buzzbox, which used the weakling 803cc engine from the Austin A30. Yet another of the odd decisions made by Morris at that time, like not designing an ohv engine for the MO Oxford, which weakened the group ready for the Austin takeover to form BMC. The worst decision of them all, of course, being the retention of Lord Nuffield, who was by then so far over the hill he had disappeared from view. It is, however, difficult to get rid of the man who owns the outfit! -- Last edit: 2020-06-08 15:29:26 |
