Despite the incorrect year listed on IMDb (1972), the British Petroleum production "History of the Motor Car" documentary is from 1991 according to http://www.allmovie.com/work/history-of-the-motor-car-video-series-22611 |

It can't be from 1991. The final cars of episode 6 are from middle 70's. And it ends in that part. And it's impossible that's from 1991 to because it was release here in spain in 1983 on TV. -- Last edit: 2010-05-10 14:35:09 |

There are some 1976+ cars in this movie so it cannot be 1972 either. |

I see what happened. IMDb lists the documentary at 3 hours; however, BAFTA's John Grierson Award is for short films and History of the Motor Car was indeed nominated in '73 and Part Two won awards in '74. Looks like we have a 6-part documentary mini series with one release each year from '72 to '77 and IMDb lists all six parts under one title with the original's release year. I'm guessing the allmovie listing is a home video release with all six together. -- Last edit: 2019-06-18 17:15:21 |
