Stronghold, thanks for posting these. I really enjoyed looking at the old racers. Makes me feel 30 years younger. I can almost smell the oil smoke. LOL -- Last edit: 2006-02-19 20:48:26 |

This movie is one of my all-time favorites because during the race sequence, they used footage of actual races in the SoCal area and show some really rare and interesting cars. Really cool... |

I first taught that this was a nice thing to have seen in the 50's, but if you have some good parts like Allard parts or Chevrolet or Ford parts or any other parts in that matter to compensate it, i'm sure that this is a real nice thing to have back then. Unlike today, I think this would have been very much complicated. -- Last edit: 2011-02-19 02:37:38 |

This is, alas, no longer available on publicdomaintorrents.com (probably because Turner owns the rights to it now), but it IS available on DVD at Turner Classic Movies for a very reasonable $9.99: http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=D43321&shopRef=TCMdb|Title |

Includes footage from 1953 Pebble Beach Concours. |

Some of the race footage seems to be 1952 Torrey Pines (2 events) for the Glockler with #77 /vehicle_22495-Glockler-Spyder-Nr2-1951.html - entry lists at http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Torrey_Pines-1952-07-20a.html and http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Torrey_Pines-1952-12-14a.html but with big gaps against the photos here. Other late 52 US races may help - http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Watkins_Glen-1952-09-20.html , http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Madera-1952-11-09.html but not sure how much. Also Pebble beach races April 53 - some info at http://ferrariexperts.com/SCCA%20results%201953.htm#PEB - quarter way down page, a few pictures at http://www.photojensen.com/pebble.htm , and entry lists (split into 4 categories) http://www.racingsportscars.com/track/archive/Pebble%20Beach.html . -- Last edit: 2012-07-19 18:20:38 |
