"I SPY" (1965-1968) was the first American television drama to be filmed on location overseas. Episodes were filmed in Greece (8 episodes), Japan (9), Hong Kong (8), Italy (11), Mexico (18), Morocco (3), Spain (8) and in the US (15 episodes). A total of 82 episodes were made and a nice variety of cars are seen in this show. |

I made a list of episode numbers and locations to help you out when identifying vehicles. Remember that 1/3 of episode was filmed in Hollywood and 2/3 someplace else. Shots filmed in Hollywood were usually indoor scenes (but you never know). 1.01 Hong Kong 1.02 Hong Kong 1.03 Hong Kong 1.04 Hong Kong 1.05 Hong Kong 1.06 Hong Kong 1.07 Hong Kong 1.08 Japan 1.09 Japan 1.10 Japan 1.11 Japan 1.12 Japan 1.13 Japan 1.14 Hong Kong 1.15 Vietnam 1.16 Japan 1.17 Japan 1.18 USA (set in Japan) 1.19 Mexico 1.20 Mexico 1.21 Mexico 1.22 Mexico 1.23 Mexico 1.24 Mexico 1.25 Mexico 1.26 Mexico 1.27 Mexico 1.28 Mexico 2.01 USA 2.02 USA 2.03 Italy 2.04 Italy 2.05 Italy 2.06 USA 2.07 USA 2.08 USA 2.09 Italy 2.10 USA (set in Italy) 2.11 Italy 2.12 Italy 2.13 USA 2.14 USA 2.15 Italy 2.16 Italy 2.17 Italy 2.18 Italy 2.19 Spain 2.20 Spain (set in Burma) 2.21 Spain 2.22 Spain 2.23 Spain 2.24 Spain 2.25 Spain 2.26 USA (set in Spain) 2.27 Spain 2.28 USA 3.01 Greece 3.02 Greece 3.03 Greece 3.04 Morocco 3.05 Greece 3.06 Morocco 3.07 Greece 3.08 Greece 3.09 Greece 3.10 USA 3.11 Morocco 3.12 Greece 3.13 USA 3.14 USA 3.15 USA 3.16 USA 3.17 USA 3.18 USA 3.19 Mexico 3.20 Mexico 3.21 Mexico 3.22 Mexico 3.23 Mexico 3.24 Mexico 3.25 Mexico 3.26 Mexico |

Aircraft in ep 1.15 Boeing B-52, DC-3/C-47, Bell 47G (in faux-military markings), and Boeing B-47s (probably stock film from Jimmy Stewart's Strategic Air Command). If the episode was set in Vietnam (per episode list above), that's an error because B-47s were not used in Vietnam. Ep 1.19 Agree with earlier comment...de Havilland Comet 4C. Mexicana was a big operator of the type. ep 1.28 Douglas DC-6 (probably a DC-6B). ep 2.01 A late Bell 47G (with longer tail boom and larger fuel tanks). Probably a Bell 47G3B. -- Last edit: 2010-08-21 05:42:04 |

Its official name is the Hughes 269, but it is marketed as a Hughes 300. The military designation is the TH-55. Later the design was bought by Schweizer. |
