This is the unfinished movie that was packed with the Deadline Autotheft DVD, and therefore has no IMDB number. Halicki sadly died during the filming of this, and thus the half an hour or so of action footage was released for public viewing. |

A tower with a water tank on the top fell on him when filming the truck scene in the car park if im right, a shame actually, seing what he did in these movies he would probably had done lots more nowadays with this kind of style with a lot of car action and destruction |

Actually a wire snapped on the water tower and hit a pole which fell ontop of him. It sucks that it happened |

I taped the news report from the local NBC station the day it happened; H.B. was giving an interview with a local news crew describing the stunt and there was footage of the truck shoving the cars into the base of the tower. They didn't show the accident as it happened but they showed him injured on a stretcher with a paramedic trying to revive him with CPR, then the ambulance taking off with his wife following in a Mercedes. Contemporary reports describe the film as a sequel to the first with Maindrian Pace stealing one of Elvis's Cadillacs and a Rolls Royce that had belonged to Joseph Stalin, but those scenes aren't here. The really odd thing about the remaining segment is that it was apparently set in Torrance, CA but was filmed in and around Jamestown, NY (which doesn't look anything like Torrance! ). -- Last edit: 2010-07-18 21:23:16 |

Those pink lights were regular lights painted with candy apple red paint. We made due with what we had.The scenes in Jamestown N.Y. are supposed to be in San Francisco (movie magic). I don't remember a pole hitting him, a wire attached to the pole slingshot thru his body. I worked on this movie back in 89, I was there the day he died. And I think I have a picture of a Tempo getting wrecked. What I need help with is pictures of the slicer. I never would have thought back then I wouldn't see the car the next day. It was constantly in my step dads garage getting painted. But the day after Toby died it disappeared. So i'm looking for stills of the slicer, and any info to what happened to it. Any and all help is greatly needed and thank you. |

I think his daughter has it, I'm certain in the beginning of one of those special edition VHS's or DVD's I saw it. -- Last edit: 2011-02-07 23:50:47 |

They all were scrapped. |

I'll remember NOT to look for old cars in Jamestown,NY, since this movie apparently wrecked every one in the city. |
◊ 2012-02-28 08:19 |
There's a lot a missing rare cars being destroyed that aren't listed, including a Renault Fuego, a Fiat Strada and X1/9, a couple of Dashers and Rabbits, Datsun F10, 310, and 510s, an Olds Omega, a Mercury Lynx RS, Chrysler Cordoba LS police car, a (Mitsubishi) Dodge Challenger, a Lancia Beta coupe, to name a few. |

I know this was filmed 25 years ago (same year I was born), but it's such a shame all those cars, especially some of the rare or uncommon cars, got trashed and smashed. |
◊ 2014-03-14 23:46 |
But Karoomay, the scene near the watertower was a car junkyard, even though they called it a "parking lot" in the movie. So i guess the rare cars were already there before production started. -- Last edit: 2014-03-14 23:46:27 |

Yeah, I know those cars were considered to be junk even though some of time weren't that old at the time, but still. Oh well, even if those cars weren't destroyed for the film, they eventually were going to be sent to the crusher or rust away in a junkyard. |

I look at the cars, then I realize what is there and what is no more. And I yell and curse in frustration at the fiery inferno that was once a Fiat Ritmo, the crushed ruins of a Lancia Delta, the tangled and dismembered mess of a trio of Ford Escorts made for a land I reside in. It never stops. -- Last edit: 2016-01-16 19:39:08 |

what a shame so many Chrysler R Bodies were destroyed in this movie it's really sad. |

I guess we all have a car that we like get wrecked in this movie.. Mine's the Lancia Beta.. |
◊ 2017-10-28 12:09 |
Chevy Citation for me. Spotted 9 in total, 4 of them destroyed. Granted it's fun to see vehicles immortalized onscreen in some way since many of them were going to the scrap heap anyways. |

Read about the history of this movie, the creator/director died while making it in 1989, and it was never completed. His wife released what footage they had in 2003 on a DVD set with the original film. It was originally supposed to be released in 1990. |
