“Compromise? She's taking him to Australia! What sort of compromise do you suggest? Singapore?”

One of the worst-looking HD movies I've seen, perhaps because of this. Not that a thoroughly ghastly London helps any (it looks like waste-collecting companies were on strike). The plot manages to be both topical and outdated at the same time, but it's hard to argue against Anthony Hopkins, Jim Broadbent, Simon Callow and Stephen Fry all in the same movie.

Lots of London traffic on display and I don't think I've ever seen so many foreign cars in a British movie. I tried not to overdo it, but feel free to remove anything you think is not worth listing.

Once more, oodles of shapeshifting backgroundmobiles, now with added grain (looks worse in full size, though):

White Polo van is potentially interesting - can't find a reference to confirm it's real but (a) my Glass's commercial guides run out in early 80s and (b) we had a Golf van Oct 80 to Nov 83, so Polo sequel sounds plausible.

Not sure whether the 126 is black or dark brown, but both were special edition colours.

I thought 10th(?) thumb was a late blue Mini Clubman estate, which would have been worth a couple of lollipops, but it's a knackered Mini Van with windows.

^ Confirmed - Polo Vans were real and they did come to UK

So grab it for a page to now give us our 3rd one of this gen and our first Brit. I'd guess 84+ date to succeed the Golf van here.

I am after a Simca/Dodge 1100 Pick Up.
The vans were common because I think they were cheap but I never saw a pick up in period.

I am almost sure the 126 is a Black. Worth listing in my opinion.
