Strange MOT record - its last test was passed on 7 March 2019, "Mileage 20,931 miles". All its previous tests with recorded mileage, dating back to 7 October 2005 also state 20,931 miles. 2019 auction notice says "Originally registered on 16 October 1980 and retired from service in the late nineties, this FX4 was previously owned by the late Alan Withey. Alan was very well known in the taxi world as he was the President of the LVTA (London Vintage Taxi Association) and amassed a collection of vintage taxis." and "Odometer reading - 120,931 miles" |

I see I picked a good one for the main image given that I had three taxis to choose from. It does appear in two scenes delivering the two main characters and the solicitor to court:![]() ![]() ![]() The first taxi to appear is this one and it's the only one with an FX badge on the rear: ![]() Taxi #3: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2023-09-09 22:31:47 |

For the record, the same three characters (the two men played by Hopkins, Broadbent, and Broadbent's character's solicitor) are passengers in all three taxis. #1 is shown only long enough for the men to alight from it and pay the fare, #3 is part of the movie's key scene and is on screen for some time (and is briefly chased by Broadbent's character's ex-wife, albeit on foot - does that qualify for a chase scene? ![]() |
