Sadly, I don't think it's a Sceptre or any other Rootes-jewel. Probably Zodiac Mk4, maybe Executive, but depends where filmed. ZA probably did not build Z Mk4s although they sold well, including the export-only Zephyr 6 3-litre [3018E]. There's slight uncertainty about this, but my understanding is NZ was the only non-UK assembly site,

Agreed not a Humber Sceptre.

However a Zodiac Mk4 is not a match either. The top of the front quarter-lite meets the A pillar low down and door handle design is not the same.

Looking at the door shut line above the door handle the panel form is more like a Mk3 Zephyr/Zodiac but no other features match. I cannot think of a UK saloon at the moment, something American but also RHD?

Locally assembled Fairmont or whatever the GM equivalent was?

I still reckon a Ford with that ornate wheel cover and if it's ZA, local-build Aus-origin Falcon (or similar) is a contender, maybe even local-build Taunus 26M for all the trinkets. The quarterlight profile also matches Cortina Mk2 - supporting the Ford idea - but nothing else fits.

.... the door handle looks to me also very Ford-like.

Door panel form profile and glass areas match plus vertical badge on aft-wheelarch position.

Another ZA-built P7b to give it a friend. World Cars 1971 and 1972 editions lists ZA assembly of 17M and 20M in 1969-70 - I don't have 1970 or 1973 editions to pursue further.

New info from a magazine article which says 20M built in ZA 1969-72, full range of saloon, coupe and estate, doesn't mention 17M or 26M. As Ford ZA was building UK Ford Essex 3-litre V6 engines already, they used them (144 bhp, twin carbs) instead of Cologne V6s, and were faster than German versions. So I doubt if they used 26M name - theoretically it should be 30M, but doesn't seem they did that.

So this is 20M in posh trim, and may well be 3-litre.
