I know it as Mini Moke, but I don't know the correct name or with which name was sold here |

This should be the Australian built version, imported to Italy in the late 80s |

No, I think Ralph's right - this is a Portuguese-made Cagiva Moke, by the 12" wheels. |

I can't recognize the Aussie version by the Portuguese one, but I remember an Italian specialized magazine (Quattroruote), when imports began, claiming those cars were only built in Australia... |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Moke#Portuguese_Mokes is my authority, for what it's worth, that only the Cagiva Moke (not Mini Moke!) had 12" wheels. |

If I'm understanding all this correctly, should it be: Origin: UK, Built in: Portugal, Made for: Italy ? |

Is the Mini Moke orign.UK, or wasn't it an Australian idea? |

No, Alec Issigonis designed it for BMC; it was initially built at Morris Motors at Cowley then at Austin Longbridge, and only later in Australia. |

In January 1964, BMC's production of the Mini Moke began in the UK with sales in starting in August for the UK. It was intended as a serious off-road contender rather than a fun-vehicle. It was not until February 1966 that Moke production began in Australia. |

Going to struggle to tow a full size caravan with that Moke! |

By the features visible (see comments here: /vehicle.php?id=9353 and: /vehicle.php?id=882297 ) probably safest to rename as 1986-89 Mini Moke? -- Last edit: 2016-03-08 21:12:26 |

Agree because Cagiva was body colour grille and bumpers, and had grab handles on top rear side strut of roll cage. Am also beginning to think Cagiva had red grille badge and big fixings on rear wing to attach roll cage, but these are not yet confirmed differences. |
