It is a Harrod's one ton electric delivery van of ca. 1938/39. After buying American Walker electric vans in 1919 Harrod's started to build its own vans. This is one of sixty of the last series. |

An earlier Harrod's electric delivery van, so possibly an American Walker electric van, appears in a "Poirot" episode. Its only as a background vehicle and is not very visible so I did not use it. I believe it had an open cab and a single headlight in the centre of a curved front. |

I am still not quite sure why they used this. Its not what you would normally see on the roads in 1965. |

At least one, and possibly more, Harrod's electric van covered about 350,000 miles before finally being withdrawn in 1967. |

Harrod's are probably wishing right now that they still had them on the road. If a Toyota Prius is viewed in certain parts of society as being cool, these must be sub-zero. |
