Goodyear blimp GZ-19 Mayflower (N4A)... the 'austin/morris' saloon looks more like a Vauxhall Wyvern/Velox [E] to me at least for the rear part thats visible. |

It is a Republic RC-3-1 'Seabee' [s/n 471] (1947). It still exists and is today registered as N295CW. http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/N295CW.html A similar Republic RC-3 [s/n 105] (1946) was used and destroyed in the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. /movie_71807-The-Man-with-the-Golden-Gun.html There is another 1965 film showing a seaplane of comparable design: /movie_57853-L-arme-a-gauche.html |
