![]() ![]() Probably someone will say that side bars are just an extra option of 1307/1308, but I think that this detail especially with this color makes it a rare 1309 SX. Only the wheels are debatable, but actually we can't really say what shape they have. So is there anything thanks to which it can't be a 1309? -- Last edit: 2007-10-06 23:57:55 |

I think you're, Michał. As far as I could find, the 1309 SX was the only one with side strips. The wheels are not the original ones, maybe winter tyres? In Holland it was sold as Chrysler (France) 1309 SX, only in 1979. |

In brochures which I've seen was named Simca, so maybe it was just an exception for the Dutch market. |

I hope that it is really this, at least first one with the side stripes. ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-04-15 16:09:46 |

I will be the one who says this is an extra option. I've bought the old Revue Technique Automobile book about the 1307/1308/1309, and I've learned that a new option pack called "Super Luxe" was launched in January 1978, including side strips, headrests, central door lock, metallic paint and alloy wheels. Here's a magazine advert featuring this option pack : http://img110.xooimage.com/files/9/f/a/ti_57-1--49e3f64.jpg The 1309 SX was launched a few months later, for the 1979 model year. It had headlight wipers, side strips, and a rear window wiper as standard equipment, while the 1308 GT Super Luxe had the rear wiper as an option. This car here doesn't seem to have a rear wiper, but is the color metallic ? -- Last edit: 2018-12-30 00:28:10 |

For me non-metallic. I'll also take a look tommorow on some materials I have - a year by year modifications in French - now when I know there was such "pack" maybe few more things will be more understandable for me. Does this book say why some cars in ordinary trim levels had black bumper in late 70s? |

No, it's mainly a repair guide. |

Yes, but often indeed with extensive chapters about the car evolution and its equipment ![]() So the black bumpers will stay a mystery. Checked what I have about 1307-1309, saved once trim specs from now defunct French website. The "Super Luxe" is even mentioned there, but without info. that it had side strips ![]() I change this one to 1307, if strips were to get in extra package, then possible that soem went also to other verison - also obviously some external manufacturers could make such extras too. |
