I have commented 'in full' on the other Wasp illustrated. This one shows one of the small front wheel drum brakes. These were hydraulic, but that was not altogether a good thing in the 1930's. There was of course no servo, and they would have had a very 'dead' feel by modern standards as well as being decidedly feeble! One hopes the lady is on particularly good terms with the gentleman since if he takes here for a drive they will be necessarily rubbing shoulders and possibly other parts of their anatomies in addition. My own 1933 Talbot is supposedly a five seater, with three accommodated on the back seat. That is quite possible- but another case of very close company. Clearly motorists were given certain exemptions from the rather restictive moral 'code of conduct' of the day! -- Last edit: 2010-03-24 18:10:51 |
