Emerging from the Pontiac?? So filmed in US?? |

It's a bit complicated. In the beginning, the scenes were filmed in US, but once it was cut to the airfield scene, it seemed to me that they filmed that bit in the UK (see Karrier Bantam and a partially seen Land Rover. Both of them appeared in the background during this scene) where the person in the Olds told the main character (Sidney Poitier) to fly to England (while they were, supposedly, in the US). I guess they shipped that Pontiac in the UK for this scene, because it looks exactly the same as the one filmed in the US. -- Last edit: 2020-02-25 20:27:14 |

These are very likely Superior demonstrator cars, brand new when the filming was done. Educated guess based on the neutral color and the front display reading 'Superior' instead of an operator's name. In that case it wouldn't have been too hard finding two matching cars. ![]() |
