Councils all very keen on Perkins diesels which is why they liked Seddons and the Rootes stuff. -- Last edit: 2020-08-08 21:53:42 |

It seems that the Cummins engines stepped into what Perkins must have viewed as their fiefdom. The British Army dieselisaton seems to have used Cummins rather than the Phaser. -- Last edit: 2020-08-08 22:26:41 |

My council now runs Merc bin wagons, Scania Gritters, Isuzu light trucks and Peugeot vans ! -- Last edit: 2020-08-08 22:37:54 |

It makes you wonder how we all earn a living these days! I don’t think the councils run that many vehicles now, Veolia does our bins and the Mayor rides a bike! (Not true, I think there’s a black Volvo somewhere.) Staffs County Council had some ex Army Diamond Ts for the gritting, with registrations from about 1947, all gone now. -- Last edit: 2020-08-08 22:47:48 |
