Sunroof seems to mark UK build according to S&G. Airstream name not used here as Singer had copyright - renamed Airglide for C6 or C7. Or other UK names were Richmond, Kingston and Royal, but I don't pretend to understand late 30s Chryslers. |

IIRC, Chrysler Richmond was supposed to be a rebaged De Soto (so, it's not this one), not sure what "Royal" was supposed to be in 1936 for the UK market. And I'm not sure about the name "Airglide" for this model. It's mostly known/referred to as the rebadged Plymouth ( like this 1936 example, for instance ), but the car in the main picture clearly has Chrysler's grille. ...I did come across a brochure for "Kingston" : https://www.autopaper.com/images/9478/photo/img3505_21455.jpg . So maybe it's that one, but the information is so scarce and confusing that I'm not even sure what's what. And at the same time, the car shown in the "Kingston" brochure appears to have a one-piece windscreen, whereas here - it's split ![]() Interestingly, there is a RHD model up for sale in the UK, but the model is called "Airstream" : Link to "mathewsons.co.uk" -- Last edit: 2021-01-01 23:25:59 |

The UK assembled equivalent of this 1936 Chrysler Airstream Six C7; split windscreen, bottom mounted wipers and the bonnet side louvres looks right. ![]() ![]() I've seen the Chrysler Richmond Six mentioned on a forum as follows "The Airstream Six (C7) was marketed as the Richmond Six and the Airstream Eight (C8) as the Kingston Eight but how true that is I don't know. |
