It is a Fowler Traction Engine from around 1920 with an engine of 6 to 8 n.h.p. and weighing 10 to 12 tons. I couldn't find the actual engine among the preserved ones, but I am sure it still exists, possibly undergoing restoration at the moment. |

To me it looks very similar to this Fowler, but not enough detail for better identification. (Also I'm not sure the asect ratio is right it looks a little too narrow?). /vehicle_140300-Fowler-7-nhp-12-ton-Traction-Engine-9225-1901.html |

... I edit my comment to "... from around 1920 +/- 20 years ..." The more I look at it the more I think it is the 'Pride of the Wye'. Only minor details are different, but none that would not change over a 10 year historic rallying and continuous restoration period. Also the engine's name suggests that it is located not too far away from the filming location in North Wales. So we now have the Fowler 7 n.h.p. 12 ton Traction Engine 'Pride of the Wye', Works-No. 9225, Reg.No. [CF 3795] from 1901. Thanks very much, Sunbar, you made my day! |
