A dead Minor with semaphores? |

Either that, or an Oxford. |

Was all-around side windows' chromed rims Oxford's feature? |

Oxford -> all-around rims. Minor -> no lower rims. |

I'm tempted to switch vote to Oxford - rear wing seems fuller, and it doesn't seem to have Minor's slightly bug-eye headlight pod. |

The subject car has a panel between a projection downward of the windscreen, and the back of the bonnet. Since this is a four door saloon with high headlight position it is more likely to be an Oxford. If you compare the back of the bonnet (just behind the “morrisminor” badge) in the two pics provided by 130rapid you will see. It is not totally foolproof as the longer bonnet came in 1951 on the Minor, but there cannot have been many short bonnet four door highlight Minors built. Plus, the top corners of the window frames nearest to the “B” post are curved on the Oxford, and squared on the Minor, and you can see a curve at the top of the “B” post of the subject vehicle quit clearly as there is no front door. Definitely an Oxford Series MO shell. -- Last edit: 2023-03-15 22:37:20 |
