This scene was the reenactment of the death of Sydney heroin dealer and standover man, Warren "Frenchie" Lanfranchi who was shot by New South Wales Detective Sergeant Roger Rogerson at a pre-arranged meeting spot on Dangar Place at Chippendale, NSW on the afternoon of the 27th June 1981.

A month after Lanfranchi's death, his girlfriend and heroin addict, Sallie Anne Huckstepp made a statement to the NSW Police Internal Affairs Bureau that Rogerson and several other corrupt detectives had murdered Lanfranchi and that Rogerson had made off with $10,000 that Lanfranchi use to bribe Rogerson to get off a criminal charge for the attempted murder of a policeman who Lanfranchi shot at earlier that month.

She later went onto "60 Minutes" and told Ray Martin that on the day he died, her boyfriend, Lanfranchi and his friend, Neddy Smith went to meet Rogerson with the money needed to pay off Rogerson and other corrupt New South Wales police detectives but when Lanfranchi arrived to meet Rogerson, he was then shot and killed by Rogerson.

She also said that she was in fear for her and her kid's life of what Rogerson, his criminal associates or the other corrupt detectives would do to her and her kid if they found out that she was speaking to the press or other detectives.

After this, Huckstepp started to write magazine articles while continued her heroin addiction and later started to have an relationship with an Australian Federal Police Officer, Constable Peter Smith.

She was later drowned by Neddy Smith in Busby pond at the Centennial Park on the night of the 6th February 1986.

Prior to her death, Huckstepp told Lanfranchi's father that she suspected that her statement against Rogerson and other corrupt NSW detectives had made her target for death.

Neddy Smith was acquitted for Sallie Ann Huckstepp's murder due to a lack of evidence, at the scene was a AFP badge left on the shore of the pond, leading to a theory that a officer within the AFP was involved in Huckstepp's murder.

Sallie Anne Huckstepp's daughter, Sasha Huckstepp believes that Rogerson and Neddy Smith were behind Sallie Ann's murder.
