I tend to think Singer Gazelle, two-tone paint and 'square' rear number plate housing? |

I think it may be a Minx... -- Last edit: 2008-11-04 13:16:11 |

No, the Minxes all had the longer number plate housing (as in your picture). |

But the car that Greybear refers to is a Singer... The colour scheme of the car shown here is that of a Minx. |

I believe is more like this with the colour division further up (but with some light reflection in the main picture). /vehicle_110404-Singer-Gazelle.html Did the Minx ever have 'square' rather than 'long' rear number plate housings? -- Last edit: 2008-11-04 13:58:10 |

Indeed, my parents 1958 Minx had a long rear number plate, but the 1957 Series I seems to have had a square one: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C21536 -- Last edit: 2008-11-04 23:26:54 |

As there were probably more Minxes produced than Gazelles I'm happy with the 1957 Series I Minx as an identification, DynaMike and greybear. |
