Could be one of the last 1965 models that got its license plate only a little later, I guess? |

'D' registration is 1966 (Jan-Dec) and there was no model change at that time. The Mk.II came in October 1967. That also marked the date of the introduction of the 1300 model in the ADO16 range. For a very short time (June-September 1967) a Mk.I styled 1275 was available for the MG, Riley, Vanden Plas, and Wolseley versions. |

..Concerning the registration ..D-reg has always been 1965 to me (I have owned two BSA motorcycles from 1965 ..written on the registration... and both were D-reg.!) ...I know it say's differently on the Vehicle licencing website ... but I have found in some cases it is one year wrong ... again ..I've owned two other BSA motorcycles, one registered 1968 the other 1969 (both 500 Royal stars) ...both with G registration.! (some strange goings on in the DVLA.!) |

I know for certain that 'C' is 1965 -- I myself am 'C'-reg. 'G'-reg for your bikes is quite okay, as from 'F' the period was no longer January to December, but August to July. So 'G' is August 1968 to July 1969. Here is a link with all the dates: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_car_number_plates#Year_letters I can confirm the given information. I read about that subject long before the WWW was invented ... on paper -- Last edit: 2006-03-05 01:00:25 |
