Chris Barrie plays several roles in this film ..the main one being Sir Marmaduke Love-tuesday (seen in the pic with the Austin Taxi)..he's also the English gent with the E-type, the Yuppie with the TVR, the Hippie with the Morris Minor, the French-stereotype with Citroen DS...+ more.! As sir Marmaduke he holds the car rally on his grounds ...and during the rally ..he thinks back to his early days in motoring ..Thus all the old Black & white footage.! (More B&W to come.!) Some people on this site may know Chris Barrie from the TV show "Red Dwarf" (Very popular in the UK...but I don't know if it reached Europe..or beyond.?) -- Last edit: 2006-02-01 00:24:43 |

This movie gives us the oldest cars of the site: the two Peugeot are currently the only pre-1900 cars listed here The only that could be older is this one, but no year is mentionned: /vehicle_19473-Benz.html -- Last edit: 2006-02-01 10:13:20 |

I think it had some popularity overseas, after all an American TV network once tried to make their own version of it (but it failed miserably) |
