The reason sometimes given why Vauxhall did not want to use the Corsa name was because it sounded like coarser (meaning rougher or inferior). Vauxhall was still trying to get established with a successful small car, following on from the Chevette name which was constantly referred to as the Vauxhall 'Shove-it' (get rid of it) they thought 'Nova' (new or star-like) was better. -- Last edit: 2009-07-09 10:17:36
