 1974+ First MY with M30 "Big-Six" engine, due to bonnet shape. Can't confirm 525 or 528.

 V plate = 79-80. Grille badge means 528.

 So the plate was fake. It's definitely 1974-1976 car with M30 engine.
Note the oldfashioned 'kiddney'. Also, 1977+ 528i should have thin silver slat around grille.
