In 1960/61, when the semaphores were getting illegal. This VW seems to be an older version (1958/59), with aftersales market-replaced indicators. At first they don't look original and then there were many replacing-kits in that years, as it was the law to replace the semaphores with them. This law is still valid, that every car on the road has to have indicators, even very old vintage or imported cars. P.S. Not to forget, that this scene was filmed in Czechoslovakia. In the COMECON-countries original parts for Western cars were unavailable, very expensive or available only with "real" (so Western) money. |
