First Amarok in IMCDB |
◊ 2010-09-24 22:39 |
Yesterday it was written in the newspaper, that the Amarok is mainly thought for South America, but it shall be started an export to Europe, too. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-25 02:09 |
Designed and made to the fields of "Wet Pampa," rugged mountain roads of South America, etc.. Also called the "anti-Hilux" as used many components of the Hilux, manufactured in Zárate. It is also sold in Oceania, Russia, and is coming to Europe. From the comments I have, is of very good quality, I am encouraged to be made in Buenos Aires. PD: VW has a plant which manufactures gearboxes and transmissions in Cordoba, called Transax. PD2: the guise of marketing, was put Amarok, it says that "love rocks" and to speak in Spanish, means well. In addition, Robust is a registered trademark here, tool. |
◊ 2010-09-25 22:49 |
Oh, it's based on the Hilux? I haven't known it. So VW is going again in these footsteps, as with the Taro 20 years ago. Btw.: if you are asking VW-mechanics and -garagists, they will say, that the Taro was the best and most reliable VW ever. Never product-recalls, no customer's complaints, no break-downs. A bit embarassing for VW, eeh? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-25 22:55 |
Yes, haha, they used the Hilux and several of its components to develop. Here, already installed the "anti-hilux" in people, because the media and people in the industry, since corroborated this, they have become popular. Obviously, VW has very little experience in the field (here never sold the VW Taro), and Argentina, a country with great geographical diversity and many rural activities (agriculture and livestock) is ideal for this kind of development. And for VW, is not very comfortable to talk about that topic. |

The Amarok will be produced in Germany, I've read today in the newspaper, in the Transporter-plant in Hannover. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-01 21:41 |
Ingo, was rejected production in Hannover, and General Pacheco was just for Amarok. At least for now, but here it is made. |
◊ 2010-10-01 21:56 |
Ah, if the demand will be over 100.000 units, as this is the max.capacity for the General Pacheco-plant, Hannover will be added: Link to "de.autoblog.com" |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-01 22:05 |
Yeah, right. Because the idea was to produce in the two plants, but even Pacheco can fill the demand. When capacity is exceeded, enter the Hanover insurance. He was on stand-by "the Amarok project SUV to compete with the Hilux SW4, at least in this subcontinent. Be seen to say. Hopefully the produce to the SUV. |

Some people -motor-jourmalists!- didn't know anything. The last sentence is embarrassing: Link to "www.4wheelfun.de" = Entsprechend spannend wird es auch, was Toyota und Co. als Antwort auf den Amarok einfallen wird. = It will be appropriate exciting, what an answer Toyota and Co. will come up with for the Amarok. -- Last edit: 2010-10-01 22:13:40 |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-01 22:19 |
hehe, there are many people who think the truth ... no longer know what to say. But something is safe. At first, there would be some collaboration of Toyota in the project, but why VW is not canceled it and went alone. It is clear and certain, that many Toyota Hilux used for the design and construction of the car. The first Amarok, it suffered from the same problems as the Hilux. Toyota took a VW Gol for study in Japan to create a "regional shit" to compete with the VW. Unintelligible things. |
◊ 2010-10-02 23:06 |
Today it was written, that, if a production in Hannover will be started, the most units would be sold in Russia and Turkey, as they are the biggest markets for Pick Up's in Europe and Middle East. The biggest Pick Up-market in the world shall be Thailand, was written in this article, too. I didn't know that. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-03 23:14 |
Ah yes, even here is also a huge and attractive market for pick-ups, as I said before, by geography and because many of them are not as "rough" as before, but have the comfort of a car. So, here are made: Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. -- Last edit: 2010-10-03 23:14:33 |

The new Amarok doesn´t base on the Toyota Hilux. It is an own production of VW. There are two diesel engines (2.0 TDI). One with 122 PS an the biturbo-diesel with 163 PS. You can order 4WD for both engines. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-24 21:52 |
Why you say something that is not consistent? were used to design several Toyota Hilux and it is well known. I think you should not say if you do not have any knowledge. You know it is happening here and I have known people who visit the General Pacheco plant and I can fully secure. Do not repeat again, that is clear. |
◊ 2010-10-24 21:55 |
Why should I not have any knowledge? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-24 21:56 |
and as you say that is not based on the hilux, if you share a lot of parts, and was, until done and built the prototypes on the Hilux? do not you know?? watch live not far from the factory and that it is perfectly clear. What's more, VW copied many things from the Hilux. So, the first Amarok, have the same defects in the first Hilux axles, with that I'll tell you everything. -- Last edit: 2010-10-24 21:57:22 |
◊ 2010-10-24 21:59 |
What is wrong, that VW copied some things from the Hilux. VW is quite clever, look at other models. Touran, Tiguan, ... There were all late, and they are really successful. The same will happen with the Amarok. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-24 22:00 |
◊ 2010-10-24 22:01 |
Can you translate this comment into englisch, please? I don´t speak spanish. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-24 22:02 |
The Amarok part from the development of a VW Passat platform, which is adapted to the different components thereof. With the Passat not only share engines, but as the exclusive transmission 4Motion. In the other segment, the Amarok is in addition to the Passat range engines, an exclusive Intercooler 1.8 BiTurbo diesel with common rail which does not incorporate any other VW model, at least those sold here. All this I know from good stock, as they often go to the Volkswagen plant in General Pacheco to deliver goods from a supplier in the same, which is client of mine. That is, the body does not deceive us. As for the Toyota Hilux, is entirely true, many of the Pre-phase models were made with Toyota pick-ups, they went riding bodywork on the chassis of the Toyota, and even seems to be something more, because Amarok pre-series, adolescian the same problem of bridge-gimbal and ball bearing thrust of the first Hilux (now solved). The next time could be less vague, and use the translator google at least |
◊ 2010-10-24 22:03 |
Its designer is Walter de'Silva ... |
◊ 2010-10-24 22:34 |
But it´s not wrong to test it with a Hilux-chassis. And the result is, that the Amarok is better than the Hilux. Mainly on the road. |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-10-24 22:40 |
and this gives, that is copied and improved, and in turn, based, if even the same drawbacks were the first series of both. |

I think it should be posted as Model origin: Brazil — Built in: Argentina — Made for:BR |
◊ 2010-11-09 22:13 |
But the Amarok isn´t only made for Brazil. For example you can buy it in Europe, either. |
◊ 2010-11-10 12:55 |
The car, shown above, is for the Brazilian market. But I cannot say, if there will be remarkable differences for the Amarok's built for Europe and/or built in Germany. |
