So what about rectangular ones? They were aftermarket or just a Made For Poland specification? |

You mean the one with lights? I don't know, maybe matter of production year. |

If you mean something like this, I think it's just an aftermarket thing. Here's an Ikarus 280 that got a new nose in 2005: http://phototrans.eu/15,103,2.html -- Last edit: 2010-11-08 20:06:14 |

Nah, I didn't mean lights (by the way I know it's aftermarket), I meant door buttons (on the right side of dashboard). I remember that all of Ikaruses in my city had rectangular, not round one. It's how it's looks like: http://www.phototrans.eu/14,184495,0,Ikarus_284_00_JOY_222.html -- Last edit: 2010-11-08 20:27:43 |

Lights in bumper had most of the first series of Ikaruses in Warsaw. Same with round door buttons (I remember this buttons - they began to disappear probably in the mid eighties) |

Yes, I meant the buttons too - they had small bulbs inside. It was for sure a factory modification (well no doubts, the link shows bus from Budapest). These grills with rectangle headlamps were made by someone in Poland. They are to meet mainly in Silesia. This 1982 Ikarus has also a driver's cab of a bit forgotten type. Later they look different. This one has such notable vent holes with ribs right in front of the passenger seat. Once, when I was about 4, I put there my fingers (for fun) and they stuck. ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-11-08 21:53:12 |

These ugly grills with rectangular headlamps are fitted in buses repaired in Bralin (near Kępno). |
