Repeater for Italian market. |

IIRC fuegoturbo is right: in export markets the Classic was known simply as Consul 315. |

I tried to explore this but it is confusing ( /vehicle.php?id=355713 ). Ford started A Big Plan for numbering a range of Consuls, but seem to have aborted it part way through and it's unclear how far it went. It would be interesting to know how the Classic was actually marketed or badged in Italy (and elsewhere outside UK) but think all these cars should be indexed as Classic and 315 instead of being separated. -- Last edit: 2010-12-20 22:26:25 |

Yes, in Italy they were Ford Consul 315 (without Classic) onthe rear right edge of the panel was written Consul 315 for Italy instead that Classic for UK. |

For interest, did the Capri badging become Consul 335 in the same way in Italy? |

No It was named on the price list simply as Ford Consul Capri but only the word Capri appeared on the rear -- Last edit: 2010-12-21 12:26:04 |

To avoid losing entries for people doing searches, I think this should be indexed as Consul Classic 315. Dropping Classic may be accurate for Italy but would hide cars. Text entries - as here - would explain the circumstances. |
