A genuine Electricity Board vehicle would identify which one. |

I don't think this is a genuine Electric Board vehicle , looks like a temporary sign on side. Its strange that the GPO and Gas vehicles are genuine because film pokes fun at the utilities , dozens of men get out of their vans, all watch one man work and all dig the same hole up many times with the gas people also causing an explosion ! plus ca change -- Last edit: 2011-10-19 23:21:46 |

Think I've misread your comment dsl ![]() Reg.no. is 17 UWX or 17 UMX |

MX - London South East (Middlesex to 1965, Greater London to 1974) compared to other utilities (North Thames Gas) is the most likely (WX Leeds - W. Yorkshire). The separate regional electricity boards were set up in 1947. The sign's wording should be LEB (London Electricity Board), Eastern Electric or similar with actual branding or logo. -- Last edit: 2011-10-20 14:51:56 |

xxx UMX = March-July 59, xxx UWX seems unissued series. |

Thats good dsl I've been trying to get the date... Without the 'lollypop' turn signals it looks to be before 1961. |

For the second time, I choose another frame. The original should have been this, at 1500:![]() |

Bedford J6S or J7S Diesel from 1959 onwards - short wheelbase. 6 or 7 ton Truck, normal control 120" short wheelbase (J5 was only standard 167" wheelbase). |

Plate is 1234 AB format, not as discussed above, but can't read it properly. 1959 date therefore up for grabs. |

Could be '25??WY' (not possible as WV I believe) - Yorkshire 1961 onwards? |

If WY = spring 61. WV not issued, nor any other obvious mix V/Y/X/M/W |
