With raised roof was in full serial production since 1975 (can be also 1977, as front indicators trim is unclear - seems two types were used in the same time). Sure it is not ambulance - "S"? If not, then looks like microbus - "M". |

I have been noticed different rings on front indicators - chromed or plastic black. I suppose black one came in 1973 (with Syrena R-20 series production). ![]() |

I know there were 2 types - this is what I meant. However early "raised roof" Nysas had chromed ones too, at least in brochures. Then we have many cars form the 70s with black ones. And there was information, that chromed ones disappeared finally around 1981. Hence my guess, that both types were used for some time (chromed perhaps on some export markets). Possible that black ones were introduced around 1977 when 522 completly replaced the 521 (before, since 1975, two models - 521 and 522 were produced), but also possible they were to meet earlier. Edit: After re-watching of pics in the old papers, I'm leaning toward to narrow this down to the 1977. At the 1975 MTP cars had chromed trims, at the 1978 already black ones (in 1978 also the new MO livery was introduced and cars painted in the new colors also usually have black ones). 1977 could be the good occasion to introduce this new detail, due to the mentioned previously reason (complete change of model). -- Last edit: 2012-10-08 17:08:37 |
