An interesting one as the badge is actually off the first 2 series of Commer 1500 vans and/or Commer Cob (Hillman Minx based) vans. The Commer bus model was the Avenger (R589) and the Australian Federal Government imported 734 of these chassis as well as lots more by other bus companies. I am not knowledgeable of the Australian bus building scene to be able to tell you confidently who built this bus and whether it is a genuine Commer Avenger and not something else with the badge tacked on. However, the later Avengers had mid-mounted motors which this could have??? Cheers |

There is another shot of this bus at the end of the movie |

The destination banner at the top of the windshield says Tea Tree. Tea Tree Gully is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, but the movie was filmed in New South Wales and Western Australia. There's a Tea Tree in Tasmania, too, but it's probably not that one. |

I believe (in fact I am positive) that this is a former "Bowmans" bus that plied the roads around Tea Tree Gully in South Australia. The "Tea Tree" sticker on the front window is infact a "Tea Tree Plaza" sticker, with the plaza part missing. These stickers were a brown background and orange font. Bowmans busses were the busline that ran to the then new Tea Tree Plaza shopping centre in the late 60s/ early 70s. They also ran a school bus route using these busses for St Pauls College Gilles Plains, a school that I attended for a few years. They are refernced here, look for Bowmans. http://www.users.on.net/~wisp/TESSA/MTTSTAAdelaideAcqBuses.pdf |

3 stars |

It is not very much used as vehicle (though that its door-role might indeed justify the 3 stars...) |

Good News, The bus still is around and is going to be displayed at Mad Max Museum at Silverton. |
