Looks like an early forties Ford cab over to me, but I'm English, so what do I know? |

Are you waiting for Scottish aid? |

No, it's American. All one gets from the Scots is requests for money to bail out their failing industries. -- Last edit: 2015-10-20 21:46:24 |

I'm managing to say nowt. Perfect example of the propaganda from Englandshire which make it essential that Scotland breaks free to survive. |

Very similar to early '40s Ford but this is a late '30s GMC. Link to "s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com" -- Last edit: 2015-10-21 01:12:26 |

My first idea was a 1939-40 AF-Series. But Skywatcher68 is indeed right: the more or less square hole in the upper part of the hood indicates the (missing ) grille a 1937-38 F-Series. (1937 F-Series - 1938 here // 1939-40 AF-Series) (1½-/2-ton F-16 to 7-/8-ton F-61. If I'm not mistaken, there were no C.O.E. models with a heavier ton rating in this truck line) -- Last edit: 2015-10-21 08:07:21 |

Turns into a 1951 White-Freightliner WF-42 later on, in stock footage from The Junkman (1982). |

Also listed as GMC COE. Somebody should change those to the appropriate series names. -- Last edit: 2015-10-21 21:27:41 |

I'm on it, work in progress For the record, and after some more researches, this cab was used from 1937 to 1948, with just some small cosmetic changes: • 1937-38 F-Series; • 1939-40 AF-Series → all COE models; • 1941-48 AF-Series → no change, except that it's now used only by models from 2½-ton and above. The medium-duty 1½-ton (300) and 2-ton (350) had another cab and name (1941-42 CF-Series / 1946-47 EF-Series). It was replaced in 1949 by the HF-Series, a.k.a Cannonball. -- Last edit: 2015-10-22 03:19:52 |
