..Yes old video tape transfers...and some pretty poor quality.! (..nevermind ...when/if it eventually comes out on DVD ..these pics can be replaced.!) Note:- adding eps 5.16 today ..due to the bad quality ..there are a few background cars..I've not bothered to list. -- Last edit: 2006-08-24 11:45:07 |

from what I remember, there's at least one chase every episode.! |
◊ 2008-01-01 20:04 |
In one episode there is a chase with two VW Dashers in a running car-transporter-train. I remember it, even it's nearly 25 years ago, when I've seen it. |

Some other junkyard pics from Ep 1.11. Some cars were ID'd with pages. |
◊ 2010-10-16 23:12 |
The two smaller Sedans on the front left, what are they? The second is a Fiat 124 -I thought more about a Lada 1500, but Lada wasn't sold in the USA, as I've learned here- About the car in front of is I thought about an Audi 100 at first, but it's smaller than the Fiat/Lada and the front without the hood doesn't fit. This looks rather like an Opel Ascona A (Opel 1900 in the USA). |

I think the theme should have been sung thusly: "I might jump an open drawbridge Or roll a brand new car (But only in stock footage - TV budgets don't go that far)" Or if Lee sang about his previous roles: "I've been put down by Barbara Stanwyck Joan Crawford chopped off my head Now I'm the unknown stuntman My career's officially dead..." |

A provocative inside look at the vehicular stars featured in the "The Fall Guy" tv series ... Info and magazine scans from 73-87.com ... I have always known the "rounded-line generation" was, in general, tuff (even with the military using them) but not that tuff. The fact that most equipment failures after the jumps were minor and easily fixed on site is amazing. |
◊ 2010-10-26 03:30 |
So then based on the article, this one would be a 1982 model? /vehicle_329806-GMC-K-Series-1981.html Perhaps a K-2500 since the two 1980 stunt doubles are K-25's? |
◊ 2010-10-26 03:44 |
Yes, indeed. |
◊ 2010-10-28 03:20 |
They also used miniatures for some of the stunts; I used to work in a print shop where a fellow named Pete Slagle (of Sessums-Slagle, a special effects business) would come in and make color Xerox copies of the hood logo to paste on the model trucks (I think they were either 1/8 or 1/12 scale). |

DreamWorks is currently developing a The Fall Guy movie, set for a 2013 release. Here is some info from earlier this year: DreamWorks Dreams of 'The Fall Guy' Movie Blame THE FALL GUY for DreamWorks’ Adaptation of 1980s Stuntman/Bounty Hunter Series And a page is already up for it on IMDb: The Fall Guy (2013) Hmmm, GM’s all-new next generation full-size pickups and SUVs are also due for 2013 ... ... I suspect future GM product placement is afoot ... If they don’t use a GM "rounded-line" generation truck, I will be disappointed. |

im watching an episode called 'Bite Of The Wasp' which features colt and howie driving a yellow 1969 dodge charger with blackstripes for a low budget film its obviously from The Dukes Of Hazzard due to the american racing vector wheels but when the charger is sabotaged and a tyre is blown out so it jumps differently and rolls into some movie equipment the wheels change to silver steel wheels i was just wondering if anyone could put this photo up? thanks -jack |

Episode 1.15 also uses a car chase from the 1977 TV movie Benny and Barney: Las Vegas Undercover, another Glen Larson production. Episode 1.16 also uses footage of a Dodge Colt going off of a ski jump, shot for a Colt .45 commercial in the 1970s. Episode 3.04 also uses a sandrail rollover from an episode of Manimal, another Glen Larson production. Episode 5.06 has the commonly used stock footage of a red Jaguar XK-E driving off a cliff, seen in a 1974 episode of Mannix, and in The Jerk (1979). Contrary to popular belief, scenes from Grand Theft Auto (1977), Moving Violation (1976) and Thunder and Lightning (1977) were not taken from Smokey Bites the Dust (1981). Tell me if I'm missing any. -- Last edit: 2024-05-20 03:45:19 |
