Interesting to see the Lendrum & Hartman reference - they were UK concessionaires for GM US cars until at least the 1970s and maybe into the 1980s until Bauer Millett in Manchester took over but they went bust at end of 2014. In 1924 L&H were fairly new in the role of US GM distributors - until the early 1920s they were handled by the Rootes group network which had expanded from Kent dealership into networks across London and then the Midlands, before becoming manufacturers in 1928 when they bought Hillman and Humber. |

This is the Traveller's Brougham on the same chassis as the van, a separate vehicle for commercial travellers. Traveller's Brougham as also mentioned in the CM article. |

That's the sort of evidence that can't be challenged! |

I would like to think the movie was shot on the same day as the CM reporter was along for the ride....delivering "Sunripe" cigarettes? |

Just realised the signwriting on rear doors says 15 CWT DELIVERY VAN £295. Can't read what's written in the plaque across the doors, but last word looks like BRAKES |

The 15cwt ... £295 is what made me try to identify it! (..... four) wheeled brakes (a new feature at the time) -- Last edit: 2016-01-27 19:52:37 |
