9'30" minute film from 1924, part of the "Wonderful London" series produced by Graham Wilcox Films and directed by Harry B Parkinson & Frank Miller. Released in 2012 on a BFI dvd

with 12 of these films (apparently there were 20+ altogether). Can't find it on youtube, but this should work instead.

Loads of buses and taxis as usual with these films, but they're all beginning to look very samey so have only grabbed the best examples - usually those with legible plates for a date.

Unusual thin crane - not just the typical square shed with round roof bodged together with corrugated sheets

(same one in centre distance in 2nd thumb). Definitely says Beck & Politzer but most google searches come up with Beck & Pollitzer

dsl, please forgive me but I hope you do not mind me adding the Buick van to your selection.

It was a demonstrator and it was the subject of a Commercial Motor article.

By the way really enjoying this series of short films, thank you for finding them!

(I do hope to see 'Dickensian London' also although not part of the series).

:king: - excellent spotting. I wondered about posting the van but thought probable ID would be too vague to be worth it.

Yes - 'Dickensian London' is coming along with 5 more included as extras on the DVD, which apparently leaves another 8-10 of these 1924 films somewhere out there - as far as I can tell no formal current release, but intriguing possibilities if/when they surface .....
