Renault V.I. was name of company not brand. Generally the brand "Renault" for truck/bus from 1978 is doubtful (they started to use it since 1980). The model name/subversion fits very well to naming format of the British "Dodge 50 Series", but isn't this vehicle too big for the rebodied British 50 Series? (IMO it definitely is.) Are these datas from the reg. plate? Maybe they belong to different car? -- Last edit: 2016-04-16 16:44:57 |

No way 50 Series this will be around 13 ton gvw. Can't read reg. no. or badge. -- Last edit: 2016-04-16 19:40:50 |

Could it be a Bedford with a Vanplan body ? |

Smells Bedfordish to me. But I'm not a truck guru. |

Its possibly a Marsden body (and its likely to be MARSDEN on the front), but the chassis is another matter. Bedford TKs were popular with Marsden but the extra smaller grilles above the main grille would be unlikely on the Bedford I think. However I found this Leyland for example, with similar grilles for a normal radiator position but it could be some other chassis? |

Confirmed that its not a Bedford TK as the Marsden body on the TK also had a large routine engine access panel behind the cab visible here FEL927V flickr -- Last edit: 2016-04-28 13:23:56 |

http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/len_rogers/july2/dodge.jpg I know it's not the same, but Marsden appears to have used Dodge chassis, so maybe Commer or Renault could fit. |

It is possible but it does look an earlier generic design in the TV series. They also used an Albion Reiver chassis with the same generic body. It appears they would use what ever suitable chassis the buyer wanted. -- Last edit: 2016-04-28 13:22:51 |

I don't know where the idea came from associated with this truck but if there is a Commer/Renault/Dodge connection then the grilles are arranged as the Commer/Dodge Commando, and could be the actual Commer/Dodge grilles... /vehicle_288406-Dodge-100-Series.html Commer/Dodge/Renault (with Dodge probably being more numerious) would be possible but why were the initial comments made relating to those makes? |
