Looking closely at the rear wheel arch, I would say it's from an earlier Jensen 541 ( not S ). In fact, the later 541S had a more "squarer" wheel arch topped by an horizontal styling effect ( more or less like a M-B 300SL "Gullwing" ). The Jensen 541 was introduced in 1953, but the first cars were only delivered in 1955. http://www.jensen541.com/541.htm -- Last edit: 2007-03-09 17:53:17 |

For info: plain 541 (173 made) had arch as here with disc wheels; late 56 541 Deluxe (53 made) same body, wire wheels; 57 541R (193 made) had top-hinged boot and bigger blisters over both arches; 1960 541S (127 made) - as R but chassis widened by 4", slightly higher rear cabin, new front grille with wavy Austin-ish bars instead of bodycolour panel used previously. |

A bit more 541 info here. Can't trace now where I got the disc wheels = plain 541 and wires = Deluxe, but still seems plausible, and with a square plate and no rear arch blisters this is still early 541. |
