![]() A70 Hereford van?? Is it likely to be escorting the precious Rootes-jewels on their journey from Cowley to Ryton or a random coincidence?? |

Can't find anything at all about any A70 Hereford van production. There was a Pick-up and a chassis-cab was also offered (both [BK3] code) and these produced some conversions eg this low-roof van - https://www.flickr.com/photos/aceanorak/6958338991 - and Shooting Brakes. But a complete blank for anything high-roof like this, apart from a newspaper van with no info and a different style for Girling works van. |

It looks like a converted pickup to me. |

Found a book reference that the Hereford pick-ups were sub-contracted to Briggs of Dagenham, with 20,000 built 1950-54. The previous A70 Hampshire [BQU2] pick-ups were built by Jensen in 5 batches (possibly 1000 in each = 5000 total) and very successful exports to Africa, Australia and NZ. |
