Entered as first series 305, unless anyone wants 1986+ S2 [581E]. Or even 1978+ 304??? "Heart of Merseyside: Frank Smith of Frank's Cafe, a Liverpool Dock Road legend", famous for its Scouse stew , now a Greek restaurant. |

Glass's doesn't say much - arrived UK July 80, Nov 82 new engines and revamped front features, interior and rear suspension. My copies run out early 1984. |

Glass's info on 305 saloon and estates doesn't give a lot of direct help. All 305 cars discontinued in stages July-Sept 82, apart from a carryover 1.5 SE saloon and 1.3 GL estate launched Nov 82 and both discontinued Aug 83. Meanwhile "New 305" launched Feb 83 in 1.3 GL and 1.5 GR versions only, then Aug 83 new dashboard and seat trims and 1.6 GT added. No change in 84 or in 85 until September (side mouldings, wing indicators, small interior tweaks). The late 82-early 83 gap suggests maybe a lot of old-spec RHD 305 cars still left in the UK system after production ended, so "New 305" cars were held back for a few months - unlike the van which just went normally into the new version. |
