Quite unusual for the time is that no wings are attached but the cabin uses the full vehicle width. The base vehicle (chassis, engine, etc.) might be a Guy Wolf, Otter or Vixen, but could also be a Thornycroft Swiftsure or an Albion. Even something rare like a Proctor is possible. All these types have their front axle forward mounted. Probably the truck hasen't made it into preservation. As it's not built from a chassis and cab, the complete body includes the cab which probably was a design specific to the body maker. Therefore nothing of the chassis maker I think is visible. Unlikely to be able to identify it from only a side view. |

What makes you think it is a Proctor? As I said above this is one of the makes that could have been used. But Proctor is probably least likely, due to the small numbers built. |
