LVCDC ◊ 2018-11-18 00:22	Many Thanks Alex for the effort but IMPDB page already exists; it's dated back to the 1st of January (with a link to IMCDB !). I'm very surprised of this : how could it be a link to IMCDB if the dedicated page is only built now (November) ? I have memory that IMCDB had had The Crown with data provide by Corkeyandpal .... and so there was too a link to IMPDB. or maybe I'm wrong ? -- Last edit: 2018-11-18 00:24:15
Vintage Hoot ◊ 2019-10-25 13:26	Wolseley 6/80 Police car (one with the split screen) for the Cathedral scenes (Ely) came from www.vintagehoot.uk (just 1 of 3 Wolseley 6/80s belonging to vintage hoot) Shame the art dept failed to supply the correct cars for the Royals! Lack of historical research - they should have been british Daimlers, who held the Royal Warrant from 1900 to 1960, in the immediate postwar years they had DE series as the processional cars, & the RAF made a wedding gift of a DE27 to HRH. (Vintage Hoot have an automotive historian consultant to prevent such errors.)
dsl ◊ 2020-01-09 14:31	Magazine mention that a 1969 Austin A60 Cambridge Hearse by Woodall Nicholson (YUL 241) will be part of the "1966" Aberfan funeral scenes. Apparently one of only 2 surviving A60 Hearses - the other being HEY 770F which is also used. Extensive set of location photos here with other interesting hearses, including a VdP 4-Litre R (FPR 96D, listed by DVLA as 1800cc) and a 1959 Armstrong-Siddley (5359 IA - a 346 discussed in comments here) - and other stuff. The lead Rolls-Royce is a 1948 Hearse JYV 986 by Alpe and Saunders owned by ER Hickmott, funeral directors in Tunbridge Wells - here and here. dsl ◊ 2022-09-29 23:30	I don't know the episode numbers but two Caithness locations were used in S3/S4 with Keiss harbour doubling as Mullaghmore (County Sligo) where Lord Mountbatten was killed by the IRA in 1979, and Lybster harbour doubling as Port Stanley in the Falklands (1982). Also in Caithness, the real Castle of Mey is on the north coast near John O'Groats and was the Queen Mum's private castle, as well as apparently one of Charles' favourites. So I guess it may pop up in the story and maybe even as a genuine filming location.
