Replaced with higher resolution DVD images in widescreen format and added additional background vehicles. Other background cars- Love this movie, one of the finest comedies of the '80s, and of all time! Truly John Candy, Steve Martin, and John Hughes at their best! One of the most memorable scenes in the movie involves Steve Martin's character Neal, who is fed up with a car rental agency for not providing him a car, and launches an angry rant towards a perky employee- Car Rental Agent: [cheerfully] How may I help you? Neal: You can start by wiping that fucking dumbass smile off your rosy fucking cheeks. Then you can give me a fucking automobile - a fucking Datsun, a fucking Toyota, a fucking Mustang, a fucking Buick - four fucking wheels and a seat! Car Rental Agent: I really don't care for the way you're speaking to me. Neal: And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of fucking nowhere with fucking keys to a fucking car that isn't fucking there! And I really didn't care to fucking walk down a fucking highway and across a fucking runway to get back here to have you smile at my fucking face! I want a fucking car right...fucking...now. Car Rental Agent: May I see your rental agreement? Neal: [teeth clenched] I threw it away. Car Rental Agent: Oh boy. Neal: Oh boy, what? Car Rental Agent: You're fucked. -- Last edit: 2010-07-13 22:16:25 |

Neal's house is the same home they used on john Hughe's Home Alone 1&2 -- Last edit: 2007-07-31 08:35:05 |

The Braidwood Inn was filmed in nearby Braidwood, Illinois (on the outskirts of the Chicagoland area, on the southwest side) right along I-55, not in Wichita, Kansas as indicated in the film. It is now called the "Sun Motel". The Home Alone house was a different one. The one in PT&A was located at the end of a street. |

There was a car that beeped it's horn when the trunk came off the car at night. What was that car? |
◊ 2010-07-13 04:27 |
Too dark to add. I think it could be a Ford LTD Crown Victoria. |

Other vehicles that probably don't need their own pages: Chevrolet Tow Truck (Probably a C-Series) Ford Bronco II Also, during the scene were Neal chases the Taxi, there is a brief shot the Chrysler Fifth Avenue changes into a Cadillac and then back in the Fifth Avenue again. Blurred, yet noticeable. |

@Black bart 2: Your pictures have black borders, please remove them |
◊ 2012-10-22 12:01 |
Okay I just removed them. Now would you like me to re-upload them or reset them in their pages? |
◊ 2012-10-22 12:37 |
Please do |
◊ 2012-10-22 18:18 |
You can simply replace the pictures by clicking on the "set picture" link on the non-validated pages |
◊ 2012-10-22 22:51 |
Alright, the 6 cropped images are re-uploaded and ready to be validated. Also, are you sure the Buick LeSabre shouldn't get it's own page? |
◊ 2012-10-22 23:06 |
You can put the rejected cars in the comments. |
◊ 2012-10-23 00:23 |
Okay, well here they are: Ford Econoline Buick LeSabre (as I mentioned before) Chevrolet Hatchback (Don't Know What The Model Is) And The Ford Louisville behind the GM PD 4903 (Which I probably don't need to upload a thumbnail of) |
◊ 2012-10-23 00:33 |
It's not a Chevrolet, but a 1981-82 Datsun 210 |
◊ 2012-10-23 00:51 |
It very much looked like a foreign Chevrolet model, but whatever. I'm not really good at foreign cars. |
◊ 2012-11-03 14:10 |
also a white RamCharger seen a few times when they are on the freeway at night before the car catches fire |
◊ 2012-11-05 22:36 |
Well there is one S.U.V. that is briefly seen once I believe, though from where I found it, it's doesn't seem good for its own identification page. But anyway, here it is. Also I know there is someone on this site that looks for street lights from movies, I forgot who but here it is. |

@antp - the grabs for this movie are the wrong size. They should be scaled down to the SD resolution. Would it be much effort to do this? |
Pagelion ◊ 2015-06-19 09:24 |
I doubt that would happen MisterZ, you could always add high quality HD to replace. -- Last edit: 2015-06-19 09:25:20 |
◊ 2015-06-19 09:43 |
The problem is, if someone is looking to upgrade this movie to HD, they might wrongly assume that the upgrade has already been done by glancing at the resolution of the current images. I made that same mistake when I first checked this page, before realizing that they're not actually HD. |
◊ 2015-06-20 17:42 |
I guess they come from a DVD even if they were scaled halfway between DVD and "our" HD size, quality is good. Resizing them would imply quality loss. If someone wants to upgrade, with the comments above he now knows that he can make HD captures |

◊ 2015-10-07 00:38 |
@ MisterZ Since you upgraded the shots in HD, may I suggest some of the other vehicles I provided in this movie's comment section get some pages of their own? The LeSabre was one of them, but perhaps the other vehicles too? |

There is an unusual abundance of 1986 Ford Tauruses and Tempos visible in this movie... |

About the Casio... Identified on watch-id Link to "www.watch-id.com" as the Casio A159W, a version of the F-91 with stainless band, but that would not be available in 1987... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_F-91W I'm saying it's a vintage Casio W-34 circa 1984. |

The locomotive featured in the film was NYLE 1013 (Ex-NW). An 1965 Alco C425 that was painted into the fictional Contrack scheme IIRC they wanted to use some actual Amtrak equipment for the flim, but they were refused from doing so in the actual flim. So they made up a ficoitos RR for the film called Contrack. Con (from Conrail) and Track (from Amtrak) |
