Strange. The '8' usually means 2008, while the '2' in the next position, for a Volvo, would mean the Ghent plant |

92 kw seems off, since the 2,4D would have at least 163 hp, which would be 120 Kw. http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=159863 |

I have not heard about a 5 cylinder Volvo diesel having such a low power figure before. |

No, it is a special version made to fit the Norwegian taxation system (back then) for new cars, as the rated power output was calculated to a tax value. So even if you had the same maximum torque, the power was reduced at higher rpms so you had a lower power rating than other markets, still strong on lower rpms, reducing sales price at the cost of engine power. |

Don't mix 2007 MY & 2008 MY V70s. They're different (2nd & 3rd) generation cars! This one is uber late 2nd gen. 93 kW basic Diesel version was built to Jul 2007. However, this car is strange, claimed 2008 MY by VIN. And decoders don't give same informations about. Some of them shows Genk, but the richest one claims 'Manufactured in Sweden'. |

Take another look at the VIN, you would find confirmed a 2nd generation V70 (S), a Wagon (W), as well as model year and plant as stated above. Engine is a detuned 2nd gen D5, a D52447@93kW, so please disregard my link to chipmycar above. Your market would probably have D5244T5@120kW, the same commonrail @1600bar injection system. AFAIK they differ by software only. 'Typegodkjenning', the Norwegian approval for use on the road, is apparently from August 2007 (53180082007), fits model year 2008. But indeed, things have gone wrong in the archives before. Remember, older generations sometimes survive along with the new one, like BMW with their E21 or VW with their Golf Cabriolet And FWIW, I trust the info given by the VIN I guess @atom still has the brochures |
