That's my guess also but I could not date it; only that it looks earlier than this 1935 Mommoth Major.

Registration is never clearly seen but just possibly Bournemouth LJ 1929-1934?

Thant's close, ours looks like LJ18??

So 'Major' only applied to six or eight-wheelers, which makes the extra name on the radiator questionable.

Trucks on a banked track is unusual. Maybe Brooklands?? Factory testing, so archive/promo clip??

Part of the story. 1939 film, 1930 truck has head on with 1930 bus, unlikely promo for AEC is it? According to SteveA's write up it is Brooklands. Truck is seen in another picture by McLaughlin-Buick.

Possibly yes. In 1932 AEC had an improved 130bhp diesel which replaced the earlier 95bhp oil engine. This was exhibited at Olympia in the Renown six-wheeled passenger chassis and as a separate unit on the Mammoth Major. https://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/20th-october-1931/44/the-aec

The final scene has the bus, full with passengers both sitting and standing, travelling at speed against the direction of traffic at a race at Brooklands.

The cab of the bus is filled with three 'coppers' including Will Hay, all handcuffed together in the small space, and crashing head-on into the truck. The filming is obviously speeded up for comic effect but fun nevertheless.
