Maybe if we can identify the uniform of the driver, we are able to draw a conclusion about the make. Or is it definitly sure that it´s a BMW? |

"IZ" was the Rhine Province before 1945: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhine_Province . The clothing seems to be from the Hitlerjugend. For a BMW it looks too small IMHO. Plus the fact, that BMW-motorcycles were always more expensive than the other German brands and not affordable for the most people. Can it be one of the many 98ccm-bikes, which were very popular in Germany back then, because they were tax- and license-free? |

Looks like BMW R42, headlamp shape, fender shape... but R42 had number plate further in front (to avoid leaf spring under headlamp). Were there, in 1920s-1930s Germany, other bike brands/models that looks similar? NSU? Zundapp? -- Last edit: 2024-01-27 01:20:24 |

1929 Zundapp Z300? Number plate location, second saddle, rear lamp angle, headlamp with chrome strip. I'm pretty shure that is Zundapp Z300 with headlamp 1920s conical shape. Photo of Z300 to compare: https://pin.it/2Q9dzNXuP -- Last edit: 2024-01-27 02:30:17 |
