As we've had such fun with XN 8524 in comments here, it gets a page to let things run. Agree rearmost side window is bigger than the other 4. Also it has a deep side-guard of metal strips below the bodywork (more like what was used on LGOC B-Type than the various AEC types??). 6th thumb might be interesting - the large roundish plaque on body below stairs - looks like a word beginning LE... - Leyland?? |

I like your optimism dsl, you know we may never find it! ... I've been searching for something like that window spacing. It also appears to have (head)-lights and rods supporting the canopy over the driver. -- Last edit: 2016-01-27 20:30:33 |

If pushed, I'd say it looks like Laystall, I didn't know they were in business that far back. |

The nearest - and quite good match Leyland LB-type notice the large rear-most window source: /vehicle_790591-Leyland-LB-Type-1922.html Link to "www.ltmcollection.org" |

Leyland LB-type with Christopher Dodson Body The inverted 'L' shaped white area by the larger end window appears to be distinctive plus the supports for the roof over the driver. Some disagreement between 'LB' or 'LE' for the type ('LE' is used in only the title of the article) but all subsequent references look to be LB. http://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/5th-august-1924/14/londons-le-bus-design |
